Description

A legendary scene from silent film: This painting is inspired by one of the most memorable scenes from the film "Seven Chances," directed by Buster Keaton in 1925. It depicts the protagonist, played by Buster Keaton, being chased by a crowd of countless women in wedding dresses. The reason? He must marry before his 27th birthday to inherit his grandfather's fortune, and it just so happens to be his birthday. A comical and frenetic atmosphere: In the center of the composition, Buster Keaton, dressed in a dark suit and bowler hat, strides purposefully down the middle of the street. Around him, a throng of women in wedding dresses, each more hurried than the last, rush towards him. The white dresses and billowing veils add a touch of lightness and chaos to the scene, while the vintage cars and buildings in the background evoke the 1920s. A tribute to the humor and comedic genius of Buster Keaton, master of slapstick and visual comedy, it captures the very essence of this hilarious and absurd scene, where urgency and social pressure clash with individuality and freedom.
