Despite the danger, the raséteur still tries to snatch the attributes (strings, tassels, and rosettes) attached between the bull's horns, according to a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Armed with a metal claw in his left hand, he embodies courage and agility in the face of the animal's raw power.
