Description

This painting depicts an intense moment of the Camargue bullfight at the Daumas et Fils ranch in Bellegarde in May 2016. It shows the raseteur Favier, dressed in white, in action, tearing off the attributes (strings, tassels, and rosettes) attached between the horns of bull number 150. Armed with a metal claw in his left hand, Favier embodies courage and agility in the face of the animal's raw power.

The artist has captured the energy and tension of this iconic scene, using contrasts between the raseteur's white, the deep black of the bull, and the red barriers of the arena. The spectators in the background add a collective dimension to this powerful moment in Camargue culture.

This painting celebrates courage, tradition, and the fragile harmony between humankind and nature.
