Description

This mysterious and melancholic scene depicts the ruins of a Khmer temple near Angkor, enveloped by lush vegetation. The ancient stones, partially covered in moss and vines, bear witness to the passage of time and the power of nature reclaiming its domain. At the heart of this dense jungle, a green, almost spectral face emerges from the roots and leaves. This face seems to whisper, "Look what they have done to my temple," evoking an ancient and protective presence, as if the spirit of the temple were sadly and resignedly observing the state of decay of this sacred place. The details of the sculptures and stones, half-hidden by the vegetation, recall the temple's former grandeur, while the somber colors and interplay of light add a dramatic and poetic dimension to the scene.
