Description

Under an autumn sky ablaze with the last rays of the sun, the Camargue herdsmen, mounted on their white horses, gather the black bulls at the edge of the Vacarès lagoon. The low twilight casts golden reflections on the water and long shadows on the damp earth, creating an atmosphere both dramatic and poetic. The bulls are separated with a skill and precision inherited from centuries of tradition. Some will be destined for the rasétades, these bullfights without killing where the agility of the raséteurs is tested, others for branding or breeding. Every gesture of the herdsmen, every movement of the animals, tells a story of respect and passion for this wild land where man and animal coexist in harmony.

This scene seeks to express the soul of the Camargue: the freedom of the wide-open spaces, the unbreakable bond between the herdsmen, their horses, and their herds, and that unique light that transforms every moment into a natural spectacle. The warm colors of the sunset contrast with the deep black of the bulls and the immaculate white of the horses, highlighting the raw and authentic beauty of this region.

This work celebrates Camargue tradition, semi-free-range cattle breeding, and the alchemy between the power of nature and the skill of humankind. Perfect for lovers of animal art, scenes of rural life, and landscapes imbued with emotion and history.
